The Teton Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) invites young aviation enthusiasts to experience the excitement of drone flight at Drone Day! This hands-on event is open to youth ages 10 to 18 and takes place on Saturday, March 29, at Flying-T Hanger 2 (FT2), Driggs Airport. With 60 slots available, participants will take to the skies in guided drone-flying sessions led by experienced instructors. Sessions run every half hour starting at 9 AM, ensuring plenty of opportunities to explore the world of unmanned aerial systems.
Beyond hands-on flying, attendees can watch first-person video (FPV) drones navigate an obstacle course, providing an exhilarating look at high-speed drone racing. Other exhibits will showcase the key components of drones and how they are built, giving kids a deeper understanding of the technology behind these incredible machines. Participants will also get an up-close look at a competition-ready drone built by high school students for the EAA’s UAS4STEM competition, inspiring the next generation of drone builders and pilots.
This event is a fantastic opportunity for kids to engage with drone technology in a safe and structured environment. No food or drink will be allowed in the hangar to maintain a clean and focused learning space.
